‘Potato Research Institute’ has exited with a humiliating report card of 1%.
In the finale of the new tvN weekend drama ‘Potato Research Institute’ that aired on the 6th, the characters So Baek-ho (played by Kang Tae-oh) and Kim Mi-kyung (played by Lee Sun-bin) were depicted as they envisioned a happy ending.
‘Potato Research Institute’ portrayed a healing romantic comedy where the cold principled Baek-ho (played by Kang Tae-oh) appears before Mi-kyung, for whom potatoes are everything, swirling around like a tornado of potatoes.
As the previous work, ‘Ask the Stars’ starring Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho, ended with a humiliating viewership rating in the 1% range, there was interest in whether ‘Potato Research Institute’ could recover its ratings and perform well.
Although ‘Potato Research Institute’ presented a fresh theme like ‘Ask the Stars’, it failed to resonate with viewers due to its difficult script and direction.
Starting with a low average viewership rating of 1.7% according to Nielsen Korea's cable standards, ‘Potato Research Institute’ recorded a peak rating of 2.0% (episode 8) but continued to maintain ratings in the 1% range, leading to its humiliating exit.
