Actor Choi Daniel expressed his affection for ‘The Great Guide 2’.
The MBC Every1 variety show ‘The Great Guide 2’, which will premiere on the 8th at 8:30 PM, is a travel reality program where long-term foreign residents in Korea act as guides to show travelers visiting their home country local spots known only to locals. Choi Daniel traveled to Rwanda with Park Myung-soo and Kim Dae-ho, and to Argentina with Park Myung-soo and Lee Mu-jin.
Choi Daniel has recently emerged as a blue-chip in the entertainment industry. He has garnered significant public response by showcasing a different charm and entertainment sense, contrasting with his smart image in his works. When the news broke that Choi Daniel would join ‘The Great Guide 2’, many prospective viewers expressed enthusiastic anticipation. What made Choi Daniel decide to participate in ‘The Great Guide 2’? We asked him directly.
Choi Daniel stated, “I’m not someone who enjoys traveling much, but I participated in ‘The Great Guide 2’ with the expectation that even someone like me, who doesn’t enjoy traveling on my own, could feel the joy of travel and dream of growing as a traveler.” He recalled, “That’s why every trip was a continuous mix of tension and excitement.”
In ‘The Great Guide 2’, travel mates will experience trips to spots introduced by the guides. What is Choi Daniel’s usual travel style? He explained, “My usual travel style seems to be a bit spontaneous. I often travel to experience something I’m particularly interested in. For example, I might want to visit a specific store or be drawn to a place by someone.”
So, did the travel in ‘The Great Guide 2’ suit Choi Daniel? He replied, “This time, I explored with a passion to share the countries I traveled to, and I felt proud to share my actual experiences and feelings, knowing that it could help others. I think that’s the charm of ‘The Great Guide 2’.”
He also reflected, “I think it was a very rewarding time because people like me, who don’t fully enjoy traveling, might gain confidence indirectly by watching me. I like cities and don’t usually enjoy unfamiliar places, but through ‘The Great Guide 2’, I was able to feel the unique joy of traveling on my own. If it weren’t for ‘The Great Guide 2’, I might never have visited some countries, and being able to take in the scenery there is a stroke of luck for me.”
