‘Meteorology PhD’ Kim Se-hyun appointed as new anchor for ‘KBS Disaster Broadcasting Center’

KBS announced that it will replace the anchor of the country’s first disaster-specialized program, ‘KBS Disaster Media Center,’ starting from the 16th.

The new anchor of ‘KBS Disaster Media Center’ is reporter Kim Se-hyun, who is part of the KBS News and Current Affairs Bureau’s Disaster Media Center. Reporter Kim, who joined KBS as part of the 48th public recruitment in 2021, holds a PhD in meteorology and has covered weather and disaster scenes while reporting on the Korea Meteorological Administration, the Korea Forest Service, and the National Fire Agency.

Reporter Kim stated, “Based on my diverse reporting experience, I will do my best to deliver prompt and reliable disaster information to viewers.”

Since its first broadcast in 2015, ‘KBS Disaster Broadcasting Center’ has been a program aimed at reducing various disaster damages by providing timely disaster and safety information to viewers, airing every Sunday at 7 AM on KBS2.
