Actress Han Ga-in opened up about the pain of miscarriage.
On the 26th, Han Ga-in appeared as a guest on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.
On that day, Han Ga-in mentioned that after appearing on ‘Challenge Golden Bell’, she received a flood of calls from agencies, saying, “I fought back when the agency called me, saying I didn’t want to do it.” She continued, “At that time, I thought I would live a normal life. I never even dreamed of becoming a celebrity. I thought I had no talent, no interest, and no confidence to do well.”
Han Ga-in, who filmed an airline advertisement to pay for her college tuition, said, “At that time, I thought of the ad shoot as a part-time job. I thought it would be nice if it could help my mom. I realized that doing an advertisement could cover four years of tuition. I thought it was amazing,” she laughed.
When Han Ga-in announced her marriage to Yeon Jung-hoon at the peak of her popularity with the movie ‘The Cruel History of Maljukgeori’, Yoo Jae-suk recalled, “I was a bit surprised at that time. You were only 24.” Han Ga-in laughed, saying, “I had always lived as a model student without doing anything outrageous, and then suddenly I did something big.”
When Yoo Jae-suk said, “I hosted your wedding. It was an outdoor wedding,” Han Ga-in shook her head, saying, “It was a mess. It was truly a disaster.” Yoo Jae-suk recalled, “Since it was outdoors, there was so much dust. Above all, there was no press photo line, so the cameras surrounded the bride and groom.” Han Ga-in expressed, “We couldn’t see the path either. Regarding her early marriage at the age of 24, Han Ga-in reflected, “I thought about why I got married so early. I met my husband on my first drama and we dated at home. I saw the family atmosphere and thought I could be happy in such a family.” She continued, “At that time, I suddenly started acting and as I received attention from people, I wanted to run away. I think I had a desire to escape.”
Han Ga-in shared that she had a difficult upbringing, saying, “When it rained outside when I was young, my mom never came to pick me up. I knew she wouldn’t come, but I always waited. I would wait until the last moment and then walk home. I wanted to be the mom who would be the first to come to school when it rains.” She became emotional.
She continued, “From the outside, it seemed like I was doing well without any crises, but there was never a time without ups and downs. We decided to have a child and it happened right away. I was happy at the thought of becoming a mom, but when I was about 8 weeks pregnant, I miscarried. At first, I was stunned, but I was okay. Then, in the same winter, I got pregnant again, but I miscarried for the same reason at the same gestational age. Three times in one year. At that time, I really broke down. It was really hard for my husband and me.”
She added, “After gathering my thoughts, I did IVF one last time, and fortunately, my first child was born. I can’t express it in words. I really want to give everything and I hope only blessings for this child’s future. Someday, they might leave me, so I have a lot to teach them for that time.”
