In the latest episode of ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’, Yoo Jae-suk gave up his part to Seung-heon, adding more emotion to the hope song ‘Butterfly’, which encourages dreams and challenges.

On the 25th, the MBC entertainment program ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’ (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Lee Joo-won, Wang Jong-seok, Ahn Ji-sun, and Bang Seong-soo/written by Noh Min-sun) showcased the members going on a winter song MT for unity, along with the recording scenes of the group song ‘Butterfly’ and the male unit song ‘White Whale (YB)’. Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Joo Woo-jae, Park Jin-joo, Lee Yi-kyung, Mi-joo, and singers Kim Jo-han, KCM, John Park, Ailee, Haewon (NMIXX), Seung-heon, actor Song Geon-hee, and fencer Oh Sang-wook, among 14 members, came together to convey hope and comfort for the new year through song.

The 2049 viewership rating, a key indicator of the channel's competitiveness and popularity for the episode aired that day, recorded 2.0%, ranking first in its time slot and overall for Saturday entertainment. The viewership rating in the metropolitan area was 3.3%, with a peak rating of 4.4% in Bundang. The members gathered for the winter song MT shared their Lunar New Year plans and held a gift exchange ceremony. KCM brought a collection of fish as a ‘Toshi Fisherman’ gift. However, for those who did not like fish, it became a ‘hard-to-handle’ gift, leading to a competition of passing it around. Seung-heon gifted Yoo Jae-suk limited edition merchandise T-shirts and doll keychains, while the members joked about the youngest’s social life, saying, “That guy receives a lot even without giving.”

Yoo Jae-suk prepared a tumbler and said, “Please fill your body with good things. Stop getting IV drips and get some sleep.” When a hint about the gift's recipient having ‘affection deficiency’ was given, Lee Yi-kyung jumped up. Grateful for Yoo Jae-suk's favor, Lee Yi-kyung bowed deeply in joy. John Park's gift also went to Lee Yi-kyung. John Park reminisced about their first meeting at the gym and gifted him the song ‘Hero Thank You’, which he wrote and composed himself. Overwhelmed, Lee Yi-kyung celebrated with a push-up ceremony, satisfied that he had secured the song for the fan meeting opening.

Next, they divided into teams to play traditional games featured in the OTT series ‘Squid Game’ (Ddakji, Gonggi, Yutnori, Jegi-chagi, and Stone Game). When Song Geon-hee appeared as a Gonggi player, Joo Woo-jae, immersed in ‘Squid Game’, mentally attacked him by saying, “Ice!” and “The sniper is aiming!” With cold sweat on his hands, Song Geon-hee ultimately ran out of time and failed. Yoo Jae-suk added laughter by saying, “Everyone, if it’s ‘Squid Game’, you’ve all gone to the other world.”

Seung-heon’s team quickly succeeded in Gonggi. However, Joo Woo-jae slapped himself while throwing the Yut, causing it to not spin, and the turn was passed to Ddakji man John Park. John Park tried to hit the Ddakji with a full swing but it remained still, and he panicked, saying, “Isn’t this stuck to the floor?” Instead of the exhausted John Park, KCM hit the Ddakji and passed it in one go, and John Park took on the Jegi-chagi. When John Park failed again, Joo Woo-jae stepped in and succeeded, leading to John Park having to challenge Joo Woo-jae’s Yut again. With the ongoing ‘Park Again’, Haha joked, “John Park is doing a triathlon alone,” causing everyone to burst into laughter.

The members, united in solidarity, finally entered the recording studio. The studio held significance as the birthplace of the campaign song ‘One Together’, which provided great strength to the public during the IMF financial crisis. Before recording the group song ‘Butterfly’, the members checked their parts divided among 14 people, expressing tension by saying, “If we lose a part here, it’s a disappearance of screen time.” Among them, Yoo Jae-suk felt that his part would suit the youngest Seung-heon better and gave it up. Seung-heon beautifully sang the part he received, ‘Fly far away so the world can see you’, with his youthful voice, completing Yoo Jae-suk’s grand vision that added to the song's emotion.

Finally, the group song ‘Butterfly’, filled with hope from the voices of 14 members, and the male unit song ‘White Whale’, conveying comfort, flowed out. The song resonated as a source of hope and comfort for everyone who was tired and struggling. On the same day, ‘Butterfly’ and ‘White Whale’ were also released on music streaming sites. After the broadcast, viewers responded enthusiastically to the hopeful song, saying, “A fantastic song came out with many voices combined,” “I got emotional while listening to the song,” and “The choir part is so good,” leading to endless replay.

Meanwhile, the preview for the next broadcast featured KCM, the ‘Toshi Fisherman’, showcasing a relay cooking session with the fish he gifted, raising anticipation. MBC’s ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’ airs every Saturday at 6:25 PM.
