The tvN X TVING original drama ‘Wongyeong’ has announced a special appearance by actor Lee Jun-young, who will shine in the final episode. Having showcased a great example of a special appearance through the acting master Lee Sung-min, who dominated the early part of the drama, ‘Wongyeong’ adds to its uniqueness until the end.
For the final episode of the tvN X TVING original drama ‘Wongyeong’ (directed by Kim Sang-ho / written by Lee Young-mi / produced by Studio Dragon and JS Pictures), Lee Jun-young will provide strong support. The news of his special appearance as ‘Sejong’, regarded as the greatest king in history, has already captured the attention of viewers, and the production team has released his on-set stills. As Lee Jun-young, who has shown intense acting that merges with characters across genres, interacts with his parents, Wongyeong (Cha Joo-young) and Lee Bang-won (Lee Hyun-wook), who raised King Sejong as a wise ruler, expectations for the final episode are naturally building.
In the last broadcast, the story of Wongyeong and Lee Bang-won, who finally laid the foundation of Joseon, was depicted. Now, what remains for the two is to establish the next monarch who will blossom Joseon. However, in the previously released preview video for episode 11, the two are shown to be in conflict between the crown prince Yangnyeong (Moon Sung-hyun), who lacks the qualities of a king, and the prince Chungnyeong (Park Sang-hoon), who possesses the qualities but cannot become king. However, as history shows, Lee Bang-won deposes Yangnyeong and appoints Chungnyeong as the crown prince. And he becomes the wise king we all know, King Sejong.
Lee Jun-young's special appearance, which makes viewers eagerly await this week's broadcast, was made possible through his connection with director Kim Sang-ho from the drama ‘The Revenge of Buam-dong’. Previously, ‘Wongyeong’ set a precedent for special appearances. Actor Lee Sung-min opened the drama by playing the role of King Taejo ‘Lee Seong-gye’, adding breathtaking immersion.
