Actress Hong Hwa-yeon shared her feelings about being cast in ‘Treasure Island’ after overcoming fierce competition.
On the afternoon of the 21st, a production presentation for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Treasure Island’ was held at SBS in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, with director Jin Chang-kyu, Park Hyung-sik, Heo Jun-ho, Lee Hae-young, and Hong Hwa-yeon in attendance.
Hong Hwa-yeon plays the role of Ye Eun-nam, the granddaughter of Chairman Cha Gang-cheon. After being cast with a competition rate of 100:1, Hong Hwa-yeon said, “I am grateful to the director and it is an honor to be part of a project with many wonderful senior actors.”
In this regard, director Jin Chang-kyu stated, “The competition rate for actress Hong Hwa-yeon was over 100:1. I thought the atmosphere she exudes matches the deep feeling of the drama. I remember seeing a scene during the audition where she portrayed it in a very different way, and I gave her high marks for her acting.”
Meanwhile, ‘Treasure Island’ is a life-risking revenge story where Seo Dong-joo (Park Hyung-sik), who hacks a political slush fund of 2 trillion won, fights with everything he has to take down the absolute evil that killed him and to collapse that world. It will premiere on the 21st at 10 PM.
