‘Study Group’, produced by Studio Dragon, is receiving enthusiastic responses overseas as a fresh K-drama.
The Tving original series ‘Study Group’ (directed by Lee Jang-hoon and Yoo Beom-sang, written by Um Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by YLabplex, provided by Tving) is a comedic high school action drama about ‘Yoon Ga-min’ (played by Hwang Min-hyun), who wants to study well but has a talent only for fighting, as he dives into a bloody entrance exam at the worst school and forms a ‘study group’. It is available not only on Tving in South Korea but also on various global and local OTT platforms such as Rakuten Viki and Viu overseas.
According to Rakuten Viki, ‘Study Group’ ranked in the TOP 2 in 74 countries, including major countries like the USA, UK, Brazil, Mexico, France, and UAE, based on viewer numbers in its third week of airing, and it reached the TOP 5 in 147 countries. Additionally, it topped the weekly chart in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia during the first week of February (February 3rd to February 9th) as announced by Viu. Thanks to this global popularity, ‘Study Group’ has also been sold to Japan's OTT platform ABEMA and will meet Japanese viewers starting from the 21st (Friday).
