Kim Dae-ho, who declared himself a freelancer and resigned, will have his Jeju Island inspection before leaving MBC revealed.
The MBC entertainment program “Save Me! Holmes,” airing at 10 PM on the 20th, will feature a special segment inspecting the increasing number of vacant houses in Jeju Island.
This episode will be themed “Cost-Effective Vacant Houses in Jeju Island,” with Kim Dae-ho, Joo Woo-jae, and Yang Se-chan heading to Jeju for the inspection.
Kim Sook explains the reason for this special segment, saying, “Recently, the number of vacant houses in Jeju has been increasing, and there are many houses left behind by those who lived in Jeju.” In fact, it is revealed that the number of vacant houses, which was 800 in 2019, has increased to about 1,150 in 2024. Therefore, it is explained that “Holmes” will inspect various cost-effective vacant houses in Jeju.
When asked if he is keeping up with his New Year’s resolutions for 2025, Kim Dae-ho stutters, prompting the Holmes coordinators to tease him, “Freelancer declaration?” In response, Kim Dae-ho unexpectedly looks at the screen and leaves a video message saying, “Dae-ho! Are you okay?” which draws attention.
Meanwhile, Kim Dae-ho shows an excited expression in the opening of the Jeju Island inspection filmed just before his resignation. He states, “Most office workers, when they are exhausted and overwhelmed by work or get fired, at least once think, ‘Should I just go live in Jeju?’” Yang Se-chan asks, “Do you always think about resigning?” to which Kim Dae-ho replies, “Office workers always carry a resignation letter in their hearts~” It is reported that Kim Dae-ho submitted his resignation letter to MBC, stating, “It is a time of change in my life” as the reason for his resignation.
The trio inspecting vacant houses heads to Aewol-eup for their first Jeju Island vacant house inspection. It is said to be located just a 5-minute walk from Gwakji Beach, at a corner intersection. Before the inspection, Kim Dae-ho hands out flashlights to Joo Woo-jae and Yang Se-chan as essential items, warning them that it will be dark as there is no electricity.
The yard of the long-vacant house is filled with overgrown weeds, and the rafters, entangled like spider webs, look as if they could collapse at any moment. When Joo Woo-jae and Yang Se-chan say, “I can’t go in because I’m scared,” Kim Dae-ho responds, “Aren’t you already feeling healed? There are many antique furniture inside~” showing a contrasting attitude. He also states, “A house like this is livable.” Park Na-rae, who is watching the screen, comments, “So there have been (resignation) predictions all along~”
Meanwhile, upon entering the kitchen of the vacant house, Kim Dae-ho discovers a mysterious jar. Although Joo Woo-jae and Yang Se-chan urgently shout, “Don’t open it!” Kim Dae-ho ultimately breaks the seal. It raises curiosity about what might be inside the jar.
The cost-effective vacant house inspection in Jeju Island will be revealed on MBC’s “Save Me! Holmes” at 10 PM on the 20th.
