On the 13th, the production team of the new tvN weekend drama ‘Potato Research Institute’ (directed by Kang Il-soo and Shim Jae-hyun, written by Kim Ho-soo, planned by CJ ENM Studios, produced by Green Snake Media) released stills of the couple Kim Mi-kyung (played by Lee Sun-bin) and So Baek-ho (played by Kang Tae-oh) that highlight their thrilling bickering.
‘Potato Research Institute’ depicts a healing comic romance where the cold principled Baek-ho appears before Mi-kyung, for whom potatoes are everything, swirling her life like a whirlwind potato. The hot romance between two perfectly opposite individuals unfolds against the backdrop of a potato research institute in a mountain valley, bringing delightful laughter and a unique sense of excitement.
The couple stills released that day spark curiosity about the ever-changing dynamics between Kim Mi-kyung and So Baek-ho. Mi-kyung, seemingly displeased, crosses her arms while looking at Baek-ho. Meanwhile, Baek-ho turns his gaze to the air, appearing annoyed, hinting at the nature of their relationship. Their reunion in the potato field is also intriguing. While Mi-kyung is fully dressed in work clothes, Baek-ho appears in a perfectly tailored suit. Through the various episodes that occur from those points, you will see the process of them blending into each other,” raising expectations.
The synergy between Lee Sun-bin and Kang Tae-oh is another point of interest. Lee Sun-bin said, “The set with Kang Tae-oh was very enjoyable and full of energy. He is a considerate and well-mannered actor, making it easy to work together. I think we were able to showcase the chemistry of the romantic and comedic Mi-kyung and Baek-ho well.” Kang Tae-oh added, “Thanks to Lee Sun-bin’s special energy, we quickly became close.
