Actress Jin Ki-joo shared the unique charm points of “Undercover High School”.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama “Undercover High School” (written by Lim Young-bin, directed by Choi Jeong-in), which will premiere on the 21st at 9:50 PM, tells the story of a National Intelligence Service agent who disguises as a high school student to track down the whereabouts of Emperor Gojong's missing gold bars.
Jin Ki-joo plays the role of Oh Soo-ah, a temporary teacher at Byeongmun High School. She is positive and down-to-earth, with a deep love for her students. Soo-ah is also a vibrant character with a burning passion to become a full-time teacher, which will add vitality to the drama. Jin Ki-joo, who is deeply immersed in the character of Oh Soo-ah, is said to have perfectly expressed her unique charm.
First, Jin Ki-joo explained her reason for choosing “Undercover High School,” saying, “It’s a work that you can watch comfortably and enjoyably, like a ‘friend to eat with’.”
Additionally, Jin Ki-joo elaborated on the character of Oh Soo-ah. She said, “Oh Soo-ah is a teacher with a great love for her students, but there is also a reason why she must become a full-time teacher. These two aspects sometimes clash, creating dilemmas and confusion between means and ends,” raising expectations for the character.
Regarding the process of preparing for the character, she added, “I wanted to hear about the dilemmas that teachers face. So, before filming began, I consulted directly, which helped me resolve my curiosities and approach the filming.”
Moreover, she had no complaints about her acting chemistry with Seo Kang-joon, stating, “Seo Kang-joon is a truly veteran actor, and I am grateful for him being a reliable leader. Our acting chemistry was great, and thanks to that, everyone enjoyed filming.”
Jin Ki-joo also picked the keywords to express the character of Oh Soo-ah as “chaotic,” “student,” and “a teacher like a friend.” She explained, “These three keywords describe Soo-ah. Among them, ‘student’ is absolutely essential because they are the goal of Soo-ah’s life and a source of strength for her.”
