Choa, a former member of the group Crayon Pop, recalled the moment she was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
In the episode of TV Chosun’s ‘Lovers of Joseon’ that aired on the 3rd, Choa’s appearance as a new lover was depicted.
On that day, Choa said, “A little over a year after getting married, I thought, ‘I should try to have a baby,’ so I went for a prenatal check-up. I went in lightly thinking, ‘There shouldn’t be any problems.’ There are so many people around me struggling with infertility. But cancer was discovered,” she revealed.
She continued, “I couldn’t tell my family. I told them about 2-3 weeks before the surgery. I only told my twin sister, Wei, right away. I informed our parents as late as possible,” she said.
When asked about her feelings at the time, Choa said, “It was such a bolt from the blue. At first, I couldn’t believe it, and it felt unreal, so I said, ‘No way.’ I didn’t even cry. But when I told my husband, I started to tear up. I was saying, ‘What am I going to do?’ and my hands were shaking. I suddenly burst into tears in the hospital bathroom,” she recalled.
