'Running Man' held a God-Sungbi race.
The SBS variety show 'Running Man', aired on the afternoon of the 26th, was themed 'Blessed God-Sungbi'.
In this episode, the members received three cards each, and the production team explained, "Today, while enjoying cost-effectiveness, you need to collect cards that refer to snakes to commemorate the Year of the Blue Snake in the Eulsa year. You need to either complete the word 'snake' in Hangul or hold the character '巳' in Hanja. If you collect all of 'Eulsa', we will give you a special benefit. Only one member of the team needs to complete it to exempt them from the penalty, and if both fail, they will be penalized. Team members can exchange cards. The teams are Yoo Jae-suk & Ji Ye-eun, Yang Se-chan & Song Ji-hyo, Ji Suk-jin & Haha, and Kim Jong-kook alone," as they explained the rules.
They continued, "Let's first watch a warm video. This is a toast shop in a market in Paju. It opened last year, but it has already gained a reputation for its cost-effectiveness. Each team must write down different amounts, and the teams that guess the closest will receive card exchange vouchers," explaining that they should guess the price of the toast.
Ji Ye-eun insisted, "Oh, it's not 3,000 won! It's 2,500 won. Oh no! It's definitely not 3,000 won!" while Kim Jong-kook started calculating the cost of the ingredients, saying, "I think it would have about four eggs?" Amidst various price guesses, the Yoo Jae-suk & Ji Ye-eun team guessed 2,500 won correctly, and the two checked Ji Suk-jin's 'Baral Pa' and Haha's 'ㅁ' card, taking Haha's 'ㅁ'.
The members who headed to the first God-Sungbi restaurant expressed their excitement, asking, "Is there a Chinese buffet?" and began guessing the price. When the production team said, "Think about cost-effectiveness in relation to the cost of living," Kim Jong-kook wrote down 12,000 won, while Ji Ye-eun disagreed with Yoo Jae-suk's 15,000 won, saying, "Oh, that's really not it. It's 17,900 won! Usually, there's a 900 won at the end! Jae-suk, you really don't know the current world!" and ultimately submitted 17,900 won as their answer.
However, contrary to everyone's expectations, the correct answer was 11,000 won, and the members exclaimed, "Huh? No way!" in shock. The closest guesser, Kim Jong-kook, remarked, "See, you really don't know the world! When middle school friends walk by, they might say, 'Oh? 11,000 won is reasonable?' and go in," as he piled food onto his plate. Seeing the starving members, the production team said, "I'll give the second place just one plate," giving Song Ji-hyo & Yang Se-chan a chance, and the two pondered, "Should we put some sweet and sour on this and add some japchae?" as they piled their plates high. Those who built a Chinese food tower devoured their meals in a frenzy.
Later, Kim Jong-kook exchanged Yoo Jae-suk's card 'ㅐ' with his own card 'ㅒ', getting closer to completing 'snake'.
On the bus to the next God-Sungbi location, Yang Se-chan mentioned, "I'm 40 now~ Do you guys all count in full years? The older folks seem to add a year. Suk-jin is 60, Jong-kook is 50. But when you ask their age, Jong-kook says he's 49, and Suk-jin says he's 59," referring to the members' ages. As expected, the two shouted "48" and "58," and when asked why they calculated in full years, Ji Suk-jin insisted, "Jong-kook is 48! It's not that he subtracted two years; this is his age. And is that from a blog or an article?" making everyone laugh with his denial.
Upon arriving at a snack shop, the members played a game to guess the price of a serving of tteokbokki, and Yoo Jae-suk & Ji Ye-eun, who wrote 1,000 won, ended up eating a snack set. The production team added, "The price has remained the same since it opened in 1992, and it has been the same for 33 years," surprising the members.
Additionally, the members challenged themselves to a game where they had to rewrite a song based on a theme to win fried squid. When the keyword 'Ji Ye-eun' came up, Yang Se-chan sang, "Ji Ye-eun, what do you think of me? Not Kang Hoon, what do you think of me? Don't eat like that, look at me. Your gums are pretty. Your eyes are pretty. Your heart is warm, I love you!"
Hearing this, the members exclaimed, "Wow, do you love her?" and Ji Ye-eun waved her hands, saying, "No!" In the end, Yang Se-chan's team got to eat the fried squid.
The third God-Sungbi course revealed that Hanwoo was 5,000 won for 100g, and the members couldn't believe it, asking, "Is it really Hanwoo?", "Can we see the owner's face?" Song Ji-hyo & Yang Se-chan, who spent 8,000 won, got to eat Hanwoo, and two other members also decided to join the meal through a game.
They played a game where the last member to throw a sticky note down to the finish line would win, and Ji Suk-jin and Kim Jong-kook ended up eating. Even during the meal, the members exclaimed, "No way, it's cheaper than pork belly!" in amazement.
As Yang Se-chan ate Hanwoo, Ji Ye-eun stared at him intently, and he said, "Then I'll give the three of you a chance to evaluate the taste." Ji Ye-eun responded, "I love you, Yang Se-chan," and with a big smile, Yang Se-chan fed her a piece of meat. Haha joked, "If you confess when he's hungry, he'll accept it all," causing everyone to burst into laughter.
Finally, the production team said, "Each of you will choose and present what you think is the best value product, and the team that receives the most votes from the production team will win," taking the members to a refurb shop. After a 10-minute search, Haha and Ji Suk-jin, who chose cosmetics, promoted their product, saying, "If nothing happens after I use it, acknowledge it! It's 4,000 won," while Ji Ye-eun shook her head, saying, "I don't want to buy it."
Among 43 participants, Yoo Jae-suk's team, which chose a 50-inch TV for only 50,000 won, won with 28 votes.
Finally, Haha, who combined the cards to make 'Eulsa', was given a special choice, and he said, "Only I get the product," winning a fruit set. The remaining members Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-hyo, Yang Se-chan, and Ji Ye-eun stayed behind to complete the penalty of making snake lucky bags.
'Running Man' airs every Sunday at 6:15 PM on SBS.
