Actors Kim Myung-soo and Geum Sae-rok became the recipients of the Popularity Award at the ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’.
After winning the Popularity Award for ‘Treat Me Right’ on the broadcast of the ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’ on the 11th, Kim Myung-soo said, “First of all, I would like to thank the fans for this meaningful award. I am very grateful to the ‘Treat Me Right’ team. I will strive to show a good side of myself in the future. I hope many good things happen in 2025.”
Geum Sae-rok from ‘Iron Family’ expressed, “I never thought I would receive the Popularity Award, so I am very grateful for this honor. I learned a lot through ‘Iron Family’ and was happy to work with such wonderful seniors. While reading the script by writer Seo Suk-hyang, I was moved by each word, and although it was a bit difficult to memorize, I read it with a warm heart. I was happy to be able to deliver even one line.”
She continued, “I was happy to be able to work with our seniors Kim Young-ok and Park In-hwan. Senior Kim Young-ok gave me a kiss on the back of my hand, which was a great comfort and strength during filming. I happily filmed while having lunch in the waiting room with my mother, senior Park Ji-young. They paved the way for us. I learned a lot and am sincerely grateful. I am really thankful to seniors Hyun-jun and Hye-eun for being with us.”
The ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’, hosted by broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu and actors Seo Hyun and Moon Sang-min, was originally scheduled to be broadcast live on December 31 of last year but was canceled due to the aftermath of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster. The awards ceremony was conducted as a recorded event at that time.
Nominees for the Grand Prize included Lee Soon-jae from the drama ‘Barking Dog’, Ji Hyun-woo and Lim Soo-hyang from ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Kim Jung-hyun and Park Ji-young from ‘Iron Family’, and Kim Ha-neul from ‘Let’s Grab the Collar Once’.
