"My mom asked me, 'I want to see your clean body again.' Since my mom allowed me to get the tattoo, I was happy to remove it."

Nana, who is a former member of the group After School and is also active as an actress, confidently revealed her full body tattoos, which were intricately designed with various shapes like spider webs, leaves, and snakes, at the production briefing for the movie 'Confession' in 2022.

At that time, Nana's full body tattoos sparked a heated discussion online.

However, in June of this year, three years later, she caught attention again by appearing in front of the camera with all her tattoos removed except for the one on her ankle at the production briefing for the movie 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.'

She also shared the process of her tattoo removal treatment on her YouTube channel, stating, "The tattoos on my chest line, ribs, and the top of my foot were the most painful to remove."

The only tattoo Nana kept is the '1968' tattoo on her ankle, which she explained in a recent web content 'Salon Drip 2' was because "it’s the year my mom was born, and I wanted to keep it."

Unlike Nana, who removed her tattoos at her mother's request, singer Lee Hyori and BTS member Jungkook continue to carry the meanings of their life experiences on their bodies.

On the back of Lee Hyori's right arm, the phrase "Walk lightly in the spring, Mother earth is pregnant" is tattooed, which is known to be a proverb from the Kayoa tribe of Native Americans.

This reflects Lee Hyori's values, as she is known for her commitment to environmental and animal protection.

Additionally, Lee Hyori recently revealed a couple's tattoo she got with her husband, Lee Sang-soon. Both of their ring fingers have a ring-shaped tattoo, which drew attention as she wore a new wedding ring over the couple's tattoo.

In the past, Lee Hyori appeared on the web entertainment show 'Sad Brother' and stated, "I have no regrets about my past mistakes or tattoos," adding, "There was a reason for it at that time."

She also mentioned, "If I hadn't gotten the tattoo back then, I would have continued to feel stressed. So I accept it all, saying 'It was worth it at that time.'

Jungkook also has tattoos that hold significant meaning in his life. The first tattoo he got was the name of his fan club 'ARMY,' with one letter on each of his four fingers.

He also has the date '110604,' which is the date he moved to Seoul from Busan, as well as his birth flower 'Tiger Flower' and its English meaning 'Please love me.'

A tattoo connecting a clock, microphone, and musical notes symbolizes that "I was destined to be a singer from birth."

He also has the number '7' tattooed behind his ear, which is a friendship tattoo shared by all seven members of BTS.

Jungkook expressed, "The tattoo represents what I wanted to do at that moment," and stated, "Removing it would mean denying my past," indicating that he has no regrets about his tattoos.

For some, tattoos are a form of self-expression and a record of life, while for others, they are marks they wish to erase. Since tattooing is a procedure that carries a significant burden once done, experts emphasize the importance of "careful consideration rather than impulse."
