‘Hanblee’ analyzed the tragic death of a girl that occurred within an apartment complex.

On the 17th, JTBC's traffic public interest variety show ‘Han Moon-cheol's Black Box Review’ introduced a heartbreaking incident where an elementary school student lost her life in a traffic accident within an apartment complex.

The CCTV footage released that day showed a recycling truck driving onto the sidewalk of the apartment complex and attempting to reverse. At that moment, the driver failed to notice the elementary school student walking home and struck her. It was reported that 7-year-old Kim Ri-ye, who tragically passed away at the scene, left the studio in tears.

The production team met with the bereaved family to hear the details of the accident. The family raised concerns about the recycling company operating without an assistant and the apartment management's recent removal of stone bollards that had previously been installed.

Additionally, it was revealed that the vehicle involved had a rear camera, which further angered the bereaved family. The victim's father’s heartbreaking confession, “I buried my daughter in my heart,” resonated deeply with guest Lee Soo-geun, who empathized as a father himself. Lawyer Han Moon-cheol informed that the driver of the offending vehicle has been sent to the prosecution and is under investigation, urging for measures to prevent a similar accident from happening again, stating, “This was an accident that could have been easily avoided.”

Furthermore, ‘Hanblee’ released videos highlighting the dangers of not wearing seatbelts. The black box footage showed a truck speeding and crashing into a guardrail before falling 5 meters onto the road below. In a shocking video, the driver, who appeared not to be wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle due to the impact. Guest singer Jang Yae-eun emphasized the importance of wearing seatbelts, stating, “Seatbelts are life belts.”

Meanwhile, the broadcast recorded a viewership rating of 1.2% among men and women aged 20-49, achieving the number one spot in the same time slot for four consecutive weeks. (Provided by Nielsen Korea, nationwide basis)
