Actor Kim Seung-soo confessed to his fellow actor Yang Jeong-ah, but it ultimately did not come to fruition.
On the 15th, during the SBS variety show ‘My Ugly Duckling,’ a scene aired where Kim Seung-soo confessed to Yang Jeong-ah.
On that day, while having a meal with Yang Jeong-ah, Kim Seung-soo said, “I think about you a lot, and I want to see you again and again, even when I’m busy. If I find a little time, should I put everything aside and contact you to meet? I’m really curious about what you’re doing. I wish we could meet in a different way,” and confessed his honest feelings, saying, “If someone asks me if I have a blind date or a girlfriend, I want to say yes.”
He continued, “When I’m really stressed and having a hard time, thinking of you makes me feel really fresh. I feel comfortable, and my stress seems to disappear. I want to take care of you and protect you, and those feelings keep growing. When I see good things and good places, I think it would be nice if we could go together.”
In response, Yang Jeong-ah said, “How much do you think someone as thoughtful, delicate, and cautious as you has thought about this? I thought, ‘This is a special connection for me.’ I still think that way,” and she was cautious.
After their meal, the two continued their conversation while walking in Ilsan Lake Park. Sitting on a bench with warm coffee, they looked like any other couple. Later, when Yang Jeong-ah got into the car to go home, she looked somewhat gloomy and stared out the window without saying a word.
Upon arriving at Yang Jeong-ah's house, the two continued their conversation. Yang Jeong-ah cautiously opened up, saying, “Since we are of age and if we meet someone special, especially you, shouldn’t it lead to marriage?” She added, “I really want to see you happily build a beautiful family and live a stable life. I want you to have children who resemble you. But I’m in a position where I can’t do that. I want to see you live that way. I hope you can live like that. That’s my heart,” ultimately rejecting Kim Seung-soo. Yang Jeong-ah had divorced about ten years ago.
Kim Seung-soo accepted Yang Jeong-ah’s words and pretended to be calm, but his expression seemed to show sadness as tears welled up in his eyes. Yang Jeong-ah left with her final words, “I want to see you for a long time. I don’t want to lose you as a friend.”
