Trot singer Jin Simon spoke about his youngest son, who suddenly passed away.
On the 12th, Jin Simon's story was broadcast on MBN's cultural program 'Exclusive World'.
Jin Simon's youngest son passed away suddenly in the Philippines three months ago. The cause of death for his 26-year-old son, who was running a clothing business in the Philippines, was a heart attack. Jin Simon showed a somber expression when his mother mentioned his youngest son. He said, "I just came here in a hurry (without sorting through his belongings). I didn't have the mental capacity to pack anything." He added, "I didn't want to think about those things. I just wanted to bring (my son) back to Korea quickly," evoking sympathy.
Jin Simon sent his two sons abroad for their education when they were in elementary school. He lived as a 'goose dad' for 12 years. Jin Simon recalled, "I thought it was good to send them for language training, but the loneliness of those left behind was beyond imagination." He also mentioned his youngest son's death again, saying, "I regret and feel sad about the time I couldn't spend with my family. I regret why I made such a choice."
Since sending his youngest son away, Jin Simon has become obsessed with his eldest son. While having a meal with his son, he said, "Our youngest went to heaven first, and I rely on you a lot. If I can't contact you, I feel anxious and obsessed. It happens not only with you but with everyone around me," indicating that the sudden death of his son has left a trauma. The eldest son calmly said, "I think my brother is doing well somewhere rather than thinking he has gone to heaven."
