Guest Joo Won on ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’ showcased his genuine entertainment potential in front of food.

In the episode aired on the 29th, the MBN entertainment program ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’ featured ‘Food Bros’ Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube meeting actor Joo Won, who returned with the movie ‘Firefighter’, in Busan to present a food trip organized based on ‘100% pure’ viewer comments. The three of them stimulated viewers' appetites by visiting a restaurant known for ‘Sujidwenjangjeongol’, which had never appeared on the show, a Busan sashimi restaurant that has been serving ‘vertical cuts’ for three generations, and a unique ‘Angeum-mu’ restaurant. Throughout the process, Joo Won revealed his hidden gluttonous side in the entertainment industry and showcased his unexpected entertainment potential.

After returning to Busan for the first time in 10 months, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube started a special episode called ‘Trustworthy Viewer Plan’ based on viewer ‘restaurant recommendations’ posted on the official SNS account of ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan’. First, they rushed to the most curious ‘Sujidwenjangjeongol’ restaurant, successfully securing a reservation with the help of ‘Jeon Hyun-moo’s charm’, and Jeon Hyun-moo exclaimed, “A place that no other show could penetrate!” At this location, the ‘Food Bros’ were introduced to ‘tasteful’ dishes like soup-based boiled pork and Sujidwenjangjeongol, which they had never tasted before, showcasing a mouthwatering real eating broadcast. Jeon Hyun-moo expressed his satisfaction, saying, “We really came to a great place. (We found a good restaurant).”

After hitting the jackpot at their first Busan restaurant, the two immediately headed to meet the guest in Namcheon-dong, Busan. During the move, Jeon Hyun-moo humorously mimicked Choi Min-sik’s dialect, saying, “Do you live in Namcheon-dong?” and expressed his passion for dialect, creating a hilarious back-and-forth with a bored Kwak Tube. Upon arriving in Namcheon-dong, Jeon Hyun-moo was excited to see Joo Won and asked, “Do you use Busan dialect?” to which Joo Won cleverly replied, “I can’t use it.” Kwak Tube, the ‘dialect judge’, praised, “You speak dialect well. I thought I was watching a Busan movie,” but Jeon Hyun-moo humorously retorted, “You’re worse than me?” causing laughter.

Arriving at the ‘vertical cut’ sashimi restaurant after some playful banter, the three easily secured a table thanks to Joo Won. As they settled in, the owner shared, “Since my grandfather opened this restaurant in 1979, we have been operating for three generations. I have been holding a knife for 20 years,” and served seasonal sashimi cut into long ‘vertical cuts’. Jeon Hyun-moo suddenly initiated a ‘Hyun-moo Gourmet Club’, saying, “I hit it to amplify the scent of perilla leaves,” and unexpectedly slapped a perilla leaf on his palm, turning the scene upside down. Joo Won, intrigued by this unique method of eating perilla leaf wraps, decided to give it a try. However, he hit it too hard, causing the leaf to tear, and Jeon Hyun-moo reacted genuinely, “You’re too strong. Are you filming ‘Gaksital’?” Nevertheless, Joo Won, undeterred, prepared a generous ‘5-point wrap’ with five pieces of sashimi, showcasing his gluttonous side, and even played rock-paper-scissors with Jeon Hyun-moo for the last piece of flounder fin, displaying his unyielding ‘pure beauty’.

After finishing their sashimi feast, the three ordered ‘clear soup’ and engaged in conversation. Joo Won shared, “I filmed the movie ‘Firefighter’, based on the 2001 Hongje-dong fire disaster. Honestly, when I read the script, I was shocked, thinking, ‘How could this happen?’” revealing his deep sorrow. He continued, “The attitude and feeling while filming ‘Firefighter’ were different. Now, I carry a fire extinguisher in my car. My perception of (firefighting) has changed a lot,” reflecting on what he learned while filming. Meanwhile, the clear soup was served, and after tasting it, the three exclaimed, “It’s thick and rich,” and “It tastes like it was simmered from bone,” expressing their delight in the deep flavor.

After enjoying the special sashimi at the ‘vertical cut’ restaurant, the three decided to ask locals for their next course and headed straight to the streets of Busan. Under Kwak Tube’s lead, they visited a neighborhood with many office workers and picked a restaurant recommended by several citizens called ‘Angeum-mu’. After quickly securing a reservation, they uncovered the secret of ‘Angeum-mu’, which was only sold at that restaurant. It turned out to be a specific cut of Korean beef. As the three sat down, Jeon Hyun-moo asked Joo Won, “Do you drink?” to which Joo Won replied, “I can’t drink.” When Jeon Hyun-moo asked again about Joo Won’s military friends, saying, “What about your friends from Big Bang?”, Joo Won responded, “Taeyang and Daesung hardly drink either; only (Ko) Kyung-pyo drinks.”

Finally, ‘Angeum-mu’ was served, and after grilling it perfectly and tasting it, Jeon Hyun-moo exclaimed, “What is this? Why is it sweet?” feeling a thrilling destiny. Joo Won also remarked, “I didn’t know this cut. It’s completely different,” marveling at the unique taste and aroma of ‘Angeum-mu’. As they continued with shrimp and sirloin and a hearty soybean paste stew, Joo Won expressed, “When there’s food in front of me, I keep eating. I envy those who put down their chopsticks because they’re full,” showcasing his ‘gluttonous moment’.

After finishing all the food, Joo Won said, “I can’t even remember the last time I appeared on a variety show. I was glad to talk while eating.” In the following preview, Kwak Tube announced, “Today’s guest is Jeon Hyun-moo, and we will embark on the ‘Kwak Jun-bin Plan’, a Busan restaurant tour led by a ‘Busan person’. Among them, a hidden restaurant showcasing ‘the essence of Imo-kase’ will be introduced, and chef Jeong Ji-seon will appear as a ‘food guest’, heightening expectations for the next broadcast.

The Busan food trip featuring ‘Dim Sum Queen’ chef Jeong Ji-seon will be available in episode 9 of ‘Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2’, airing on December 6 at 9:10 PM.
