‘Brave Detectives 4’ tracks down a criminal who brutally murdered a victim and committed arson.
On the 29th at 9:50 PM, the T-Cast E Channel entertainment program ‘Brave Detectives 4’ (directed by Lee Ji-sun) will feature former Commissioner Yoon Wae-chul and Inspector Kim Jin-soo from the Scientific Investigation Team (KCSI), who will present their solved case files.
The case introduced in this episode begins with a call from a building manager reporting a burning smell coming from a mixed-use building, but they cannot determine where the fire is originating from. Firefighters and the police's violent crimes unit responded and evacuated residents while checking each apartment, but only one apartment did not open its door.
Inside the forcibly opened apartment, it was filled with thick smoke and the smell of burning, leading investigators to instinctively suspect a violent crime. On the mattress, where the fire initially started, blankets and cardboard boxes were piled up, and upon clearing them away, a half-naked corpse was discovered, stripped down to its lower underwear.
The condition of the corpse immediately suggested homicide. The face was wrapped in transparent tape from the face to the neck, and the face was so decomposed that it was difficult to distinguish whether it was male or female. There were dozens of stab and cut wounds all over the body.
CCTV captured the moment flames erupted from the victim's window in the early morning, only to subside shortly after. Investigators identified the only person who entered and exited the building around that time and discovered suspicious behavior in this person's actions.
