YES24, a leading online bookstore and ticket booking platform in South Korea, is down once again, which is expected to disrupt the ticket sales schedule for the group DAY6's concert.
As of 11 AM on the 11th, the YES24 website is inaccessible. The official application is also unavailable. This issue began around 6 AM that day and is causing significant inconvenience to many consumers.
YES24 has acknowledged the problem and is currently investigating the cause. They stated, "To prevent any potential damage, we have urgently blocked the system to prevent further harm and are implementing security checks and defensive measures." Additionally, they are reportedly using backup data to restore services.
Due to the website access errors, basic essential services such as book searches, order deliveries, and ticket bookings have all been suspended.
Among these, the ticket sales for DAY6's concert, which is part of their 10th anniversary tour, are expected to be affected once again. Originally, general ticket sales for the concert were scheduled to open at 8 PM that day. However, with the ongoing downtime, access for ticket booking has become uncertain. Furthermore, the delivery of pre-sale tickets for the fan club My Day's 5th generation, which took place on the 8th, is also facing difficulties.
If the website recovery happens quickly, there may not be any issues, but the situation remains uncertain.
Previously, YES24 experienced a ransomware attack in June, which paralyzed their app and internet services, leading to a resumption of services after five days. At that time, DAY6 also had to postpone their ticket sales schedule due to the downtime ahead of their fan meeting in July.
YES24 has established compensation plans for affected members, as well as for all members and partners. The company stated, "To prevent recurrence, we will strengthen security checks and system management systems and take thorough preventive measures," but the situation has arisen again just two months later, putting them under scrutiny.
