Members of the group BTS, Jimin and Jungkook, shared their thoughts on their discharge from the military.
On the 11th, Jimin and Jungkook, who were discharged from the military, communicated with fans through a live broadcast on the fan communication platform ‘Weverse’.
On this day, Jimin said, “I had a lot of worries when I enlisted. I was really troubled when I entered the training camp. Jungkook was okay...” as he began to speak.
He continued, “During the 5 weeks in the training camp, I suffered every single day. Jungkook gave me a lot of strength during that time. He comforted me by saying, ‘Hyung, it’s only been two days, isn’t time going fast?’”
Jimin mentioned, “After being assigned to my unit, the roles reversed. Jungkook suffered every day,” adding, “We relied on each other a lot. I especially met great people in the military, and the officers treated us well. The senior-junior relationships were not sensitive, and they were excellent people with a lot to learn from. I think I spent my time well there.”
The two were discharged together from the 5th Artillery Brigade in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, on the morning of that day. After sharing their discharge thoughts with reporters at a public sports field near the base, they reportedly moved to the HYBE headquarters to greet the company officials.
Jimin and Jungkook enlisted together in December 2023 as active-duty soldiers and served as a gunner and a cook (catering soldier) in the 5th Division Artillery Brigade, respectively.
BTS has now taken a step closer to a full group comeback, with all members having completed their military service, following Jin and J-Hope, who were discharged last year, and RM and V, who were discharged the day before. Suga, who is serving as a social service agent, will be discharged on the 21st.
HYBE celebrated the members' discharge by wrapping the exterior of their headquarters with the phrase ‘WE ARE BACK’, signaling a full group comeback. This phrase will be displayed until the 29th. On this day, about 1,500 fans gathered in front of the HYBE headquarters to welcome Jimin and Jungkook’s discharge, following the previous day’s events.
