ASTRO's JinJin has received a military exemption.
On the 2nd, his agency Fantagio announced through ASTRO's official fan cafe that "JinJin has been deemed unfit for military service based on the results of a detailed physical examination by the Military Manpower Administration due to health issues related to an autoimmune disease."
They continued, "While there are no issues in daily life, it has been medically determined that special group living, such as military service, would be difficult due to the need for periodic hospital visits for examinations and management, leading to his exemption from military service."
They added, "Our company will prioritize JinJin's health and continue his activities," and expressed gratitude to fans for their ongoing support, asking for continued interest in JinJin's activities.
Born in 1996, JinJin is the leader and main rapper of ASTRO and has previously participated in 'Show Me the Money 5.'
Recently, he has also expanded his career as a musical actor, with works including 'Dream High,' 'Winter Sonata,' and 'Crash Landing on You.'
ASTRO, which JinJin is a part of, debuted in 2016. The team includes Cha Eun-woo, Yoon San-ha, MJ, and others. Cha Eun-woo is set to enlist in the military band on July 28.
