On the 2nd, My Daily reported that Seungri has recently traveled to China to explore business opportunities.
The media quoted a source from the entertainment industry saying, "Seungri is still very interested in the entertainment business and is looking for related opportunities," and added, "There are no plans for domestic activities."
Recently, an online community in Korea drew attention by claiming that Seungri was seen dining at a restaurant in Seoul. The author of the post stated, "I saw Seungri at a bone soup restaurant in Songpa, and he was eating like a thief. With a very pretty woman."
They continued, "The place was packed with people, and everyone knew it was Seungri but pretended not to. However, the lady at the restaurant handed him a large piece of paper and loudly asked him to sign it," explaining the situation at that time, "Seungri took two bites and got up."
Seungri became a central figure in the so-called 'Burning Sun' scandal that erupted in November 2018.
He was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for a total of 9 charges, including violation of the Act on the Punishment of Sexual Traffic, prostitution, violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, habitual gambling, violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, violation of the Food Sanitation Act, embezzlement in the course of business, violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement), and instigation of special assault. Seungri was released after completing his sentence at the Yeoju Correctional Institution in February 2023.
As a result of this incident, Seungri not only left his group BIGBANG but also retired from the entertainment industry.
