The group Weekly is leaving IST Entertainment.
On the 26th, IST Entertainment stated to Maeil Business Star Today, "After long discussions with the Weekly members regarding future activities, we have mutually agreed to respect each other's opinions and terminate the exclusive contract."
They added, "We sincerely thank the members who have been with us as our artists and the fans who have shared this bright and warm journey with us. We ask for your continued love and support for the Weekly members, who will continue to be active in various fields."
Earlier this year, Beyond Music, a company specializing in music intellectual property investment, acquired 100% of the shares of IST Entertainment held by Kakao Entertainment. As interest in the activities of IST's artists, including Weekly, grew, Weekly decided to end its contract with IST.
Debuting in 2020, Weekly is a six-member girl group consisting of Lee Soo-jin, Monday, Park So-eun, Lee Jae-hee, Ji Han, and Jo A. They have been active with songs such as "Tag Me," "After School," "Broom Broom," and "Stranger."
