The recruitment of various musicians to participate in the '2024 Traveling Popular Music Concert' will take place from December 4 to December 13.
Organized by the Korea Popular Music Performance Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as KPMPIA) and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the '2024 Traveling Popular Music Concert' aims to visit culturally marginalized areas to hold various performances in diverse spaces, providing opportunities for the enjoyment of popular music.
The selection of musicians will be finalized after a fair review by the selection committee, and further details regarding application and registration can be found on the KPMPIA website.
The concert locations include △Samcheok City, Gangwon Province △Osan City, Gyeonggi Province △Goseong County, Gyeongsangnam-do △Cheorwon County, Gangwon Province △Haeundae District, Busan Metropolitan City △Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province △Andong City, Gyeongsangbuk-do △Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province △Gijang County, Busan Metropolitan City △Nam-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City △Jangheung County, Jeollanam-do △Boeun County, Chungcheongbuk-do △Yeonggwang County, Jeollanam-do △Hwacheon County, Gangwon Province. A total of 14 regions were selected through the review of the selection committee in October.
KPMPIA Chairman Lee Jong-hyun stated, “We plan to contribute to the revitalization of local culture and the spread of popular music performances through the '2024 Traveling Popular Music Concert.' I hope this project provides opportunities for musicians to communicate with various age groups on diverse stages, especially in a situation where there are insufficient stages and opportunities for performances.”
Meanwhile, KPMPIA organizes and hosts various popular music-related performances, including concerts, festivals, world tours, and domestic performances, and is a cooperative organization consisting of 46 member companies working together for the future of the popular music industry and the rights of its workers.
