Actor Lee Jeong-hyun will meet audiences in theaters with her short film 'Going to the Flower Viewing', which she directed and starred in.
On the 21st, CGV announced that it has selected 'Going to the Flower Viewing' as the fifth work in its short film screening project 'SHORTS HOUSE' and will exclusively screen it at Art House.
'SHORTS HOUSE' is a regular screening project by CGV that showcases domestic and international short films in theaters, launched last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Art House. It began with director Kim Jong-kwan's 'How to Operate a Polaroid', followed by Neo Sora's 'Sugar Glass Bottle' and 'The Chicken', and Coralie Parra's 'Reality+', totaling four films presented.
'Going to the Flower Viewing' is Lee Jeong-hyun's directorial debut, where she took on the roles of director, screenwriter, and lead actor. It has been officially invited to the Korean Cinema section of the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival, as well as the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival, Women's Rights Film Festival, and Jeju Women's Film Festival, receiving recognition for its artistic quality and completeness.
The film tells the story of Sumi (Lee Jeong-hyun), who is expelled from the hospital due to her mother's overdue treatment fees for terminal cancer, and promises her mother a flower viewing tour. With delicate direction, it leaves a short but intense aftertaste, infused with the director's autobiographical experiences, adding realism and emotional depth.
To celebrate the screening of 'Going to the Flower Viewing', CGV will give away A3-sized movie posters to the audience on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last. On the 26th, a cinema talk featuring director Lee Jeong-hyun will be held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall, and all pre-booked audience members will receive limited edition merchandise.
'Going to the Flower Viewing' will be screened at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall and 16 other Art Houses nationwide starting from the 22nd. The running time is 28 minutes, and the ticket price is 3,000 won.
