Actor Jung Sung-il made everyone laugh by saying, “I’m glad to have worked with Teacher Jo, who brings the energy of ‘Zombie Daughter’.”
On the morning of the 12th, at the production report for the movie ‘Murderer Report’ (directed by Jo Young-jun) held at CGV Yongsan in Seoul, Jung Sung-il said, “I was happy and excited when I first heard that I would be working with Jo Yeo-jeong on this set. During filming, we talked a lot and I received a lot of help.”
He continued, “Watching ‘Zombie Daughter’ succeed these days, I thought, ‘I’m glad we worked together’,” jokingly adding, “There’s so much to learn. On set, I keep calling her ‘Teacher Jo’,” which made everyone laugh.
Jo Yeo-jeong remarked, “It was a format I had never seen before.” He said, “Reading the script, I felt a tremendous sense of immersion as it was filled with enough tension and density for two hours. It was also quite scary,” adding, “I wondered if I could pull this off. I felt like there was nowhere to breathe. I thought a lot about it, and in the end, I wanted to believe in the faith of ‘What did they see in me to give me this?’”
‘Murderer Report’ is a drama that tells the story of veteran reporter Seon-joo (Jo Yeo-jeong), who is thirsty for exclusive stories, as psychiatrist Young-hoon (Jung Sung-il) requests an interview to confess to a series of murders.
Jo Yeo-jeong expressed satisfaction about reuniting with Jung Sung-il after the drama ‘The Lady of 99 Billion’ saying, “I thought I could trust and rely on him as an older brother. In reality, I relied on him a lot. I feel like I made a good choice to challenge and take risks,” adding, “I chose this work thinking I would regret it if I let it go, and when I managed to maintain my focus, the sense of achievement was that much greater.”
Jung Sung-il shared, “I received the script while practicing for a play, and I ended up using all my break time to read it. As soon as I finished reading, I was scared that this script might go to someone else, so I called immediately. I said I absolutely wanted to do it. I was that eager,” expressing confidence, “It was a script that felt as dense as the tension of being unable to escape a confined space like in ‘Phone Booth’.”
Jo Yeo-jeong, Jung Sung-il, Kim Tae-han, and others star in the film, which will be released on September 5. It is rated for adults only.
