A documentary about the BTS fandom 'ARMY' will be released.
Global event cinema distributor Trafalgar Releasing announced that the documentary 'BTS ARMY: FOREVER WE ARE YOUNG' focusing on the global BTS fandom ARMY will be released simultaneously worldwide on July 30.
In South Korea, it will be released simultaneously in major theaters such as CGV, Megabox, and Lotte Cinema, with WIZONCEN handling domestic co-distribution.
This work is a feature-length documentary co-directed by Peabody Award-winning director Grace Lee and K-POP researcher and director Patty Ahn, centering on the passion and solidarity of ARMY, BTS's official fan club with over 9 million fans.
The film seriously explores the new social energy that the 'fandom' community shows through stories of fans active in various cities such as Seoul, Los Angeles, Texas, and Mexico City, a dance instructor in Seoul teaching BTS choreography, attendees of the fan-centered concert 'ReactorCon', and examples of a global fan community organized voluntarily since 2013.
The film premiered at SXSW (South by Southwest) in 2025, receiving a warm response and standing ovation from the audience, and was praised by fans and critics alike. It has since been screened at international film festivals in Copenhagen, Mexico, Hawaii, and LA, garnering significant interest.
The two directors stated, "Without BTS, there is no ARMY, and without ARMY, there is no BTS," and expressed their hope that this film will be a time for fans to feel the strength and creativity of the fandom and to laugh and cry together.
Advance ticket sales will open on July 16 at CGV, Megabox, and Lotte Cinema, and tickets can be purchased through the official websites and apps of each theater.
