'Jurassic World' has returned, but it only left disappointment. Despite the expectation of dinosaurs, it lost its strength with unappealing settings and characters.
'Jurassic World: A New Beginning' depicts the world five years after dinosaurs have become the top predators on Earth. The precarious coexistence of humans and dinosaurs continues, and a pharmaceutical company needs the DNA of giant dinosaurs that dominate land, sky, and sea for new drug development.
To carry out this impossible mission, Zora (Scarlett Johansson), Dr. Henry (Jonathan Bailey), and Duncan (Mahershala Ali) track down dinosaurs and arrive at the most dangerous island on Earth. There, they confront the shocking truths hidden by the closed Jurassic Park research facility.

'Jurassic World: A New Beginning' is the seventh installment in the 'Jurassic Park' series and the fourth film in the 'Jurassic World' franchise. The series has accumulated a box office revenue of $6 billion (approximately 8.4 trillion won). Hollywood master Steven Spielberg, who created the 'Jurassic' universe, participated as a producer, and Gareth Edwards, known for 'Godzilla,' 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,' and 'The Creator,' directed the film.
Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson, being a fan of the original work, did not hesitate to participate, showcasing the series' strong fan base. The 'Jurassic World' franchise has returned with new members.
However, perhaps the expectations were too high. Before reaching the island with dinosaurs, several character introductions occur, but it is difficult to feel their individual charms. Moreover, the process of unfolding the story feels quite tedious. The predictable plot and the presence of annoying characters are disappointing in many ways.
Above all, what is expected from 'Jurassic World' is the dinosaurs' performance. However, it feels like there isn't as much dinosaur footage as anticipated. It takes almost an hour to arrive at the island. The action scenes are also fewer than expected.
Of course, when the dinosaurs appear, they capture attention. Despite being created with CGI, there is no awkwardness, which enhances immersion. The moments that evoke wonder and fear towards the dinosaurs are well expressed. On the other hand, the visuals of the mutated dinosaurs may divide opinions.
Released on the 2nd. Rated for ages 12 and up. Running time 133 minutes.
