Director Kang Hyung-chul candidly stated regarding Yoo Ah-in's footage in his new film 'High Five', which was halted due to the 'drug scandal', "We hardly touched it."
At the production report meeting for the film 'High Five' (directed by Kang Hyung-chul) held on the 12th at Lotte Cinema in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, Director Kang cautiously remarked about Yoo Ah-in, one of the cast members, in relation to the drug scandal, saying, "It's unfortunate, and I wish it hadn't happened."
Director Kang explained, "At the time of Yoo Ah-in's drug controversy, the film was still in the process of being completed and in post-production." He added, "When a big issue arises, I heard somewhere that 'a competent leader must resolve it first.' As a director and person in charge, I thought I needed to work hard on the post-production to complete the film. I was determined to finish the work of these brilliant actors."
He then added, "We hardly touched it."
Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to prison for drug use but was released after being given a suspended sentence in the second trial held in February.
The film is a comic action drama that depicts the story of five individuals who accidentally gain different superpowers through organ transplants and encounter those who seek their abilities. It is the new work of director Kang Hyung-chul, known for directing 'Speed Scandal', 'Sunny', 'Tazza: The High Rollers', and 'Swing Kids'.
The cast includes Lee Jae-in, Ahn Jae-hong, Yoo Ah-in, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Hee-won, Oh Jung-se, and Park Jin-young. It is set to be released on May 30.
