Actress Shin Hyun-bin has challenged herself with a bold visual featuring a short haircut and no makeup.
On the morning of the 18th, at the production briefing held at Hotel Naru Seoul M Gallery for the Netflix film 'Revelation' (directed by Yeon Sang-ho), Shin Hyun-bin stated, "My character has no interest in grooming herself at all."
She continued, "I wanted to appear indifferent, so I cut my hair short and received help with makeup for freckles and dark circles. It greatly helped my acting."
She explained, "Since I didn't wear any makeup at all, I experienced a lot of changes in my skin tone during emotional scenes. This is the first time I've gone without makeup to this extent, and I think it influenced the way I presented myself."
Additionally, she added, "I tried to express not only my external appearance but also my internal struggles and fears, as well as my belief in the sense of justice to overcome them."
'Revelation' tells the story of a pastor who believes that punishing the perpetrator of a missing person case is a divine revelation, and a detective in charge of the case who is haunted by the spirit of his deceased brother, each pursuing their own beliefs. It is a new work by Yeon Sang-ho that poses sharp questions about human instincts.
Alfonso Cuarón, a master filmmaker known for both commercial success and artistic merit with works like 'Roma' and 'Gravity', participates as an executive producer, with actors Ryu Jun-yeol, Shin Hyun-bin, and Shin Min-jae starring.
It will be released worldwide on the 21st.
