Actress Jung Hye-in showcased her ‘Goddess of Soccer’ vibe. During a futsal match with Choi Daniel, she left everyone in stitches by trailing off, saying, “I thought he would be really good at it...”
On the afternoon of the 7th, a press screening for the movie ‘Sunny Day’ (directed by Lee Chang-moo) took place at CGV Yongsan in Seoul.
‘Sunny Day’ tells the story of superstar Oh Sun-hee (played by Jung Hye-in), who returns to her hometown of Wando after a divorce lawsuit, and meets her first love, the pure-hearted Jo Dong-pil (played by Choi Daniel), along with her hometown friends, giving each other the courage to start anew in this restart happy movie.
Director Lee Chang-moo opened up by saying, “Jung Hye-in’s soccer skills are off the charts.” When asked if she had played soccer with other actors, Jung Hye-in replied, “Yesterday, I filmed a variety show with Choi Daniel and Han Sang-jin, and we played futsal there. I couldn’t play during the shoot because it was busy, but just by looking at him, I thought he would be really good at it because of his physique. I also thought Han Sang-jin would be good since he likes basketball.”
After bursting into laughter, Jung Hye-in continued, “We played really fun,” bringing more smiles. She added, “During the shoot, they took good care of me, so I relied on them a lot, but they seemed scared of the ball. They are tall, but...” and mentioned, “I think we’ll see a lot of cute moments from that variety show.”
Choi Daniel smiled, saying, “I have many good memories acting with Jung Hye-in. We became really close.” Regarding the ending kiss scene, he said, “Originally, it was supposed to be an epilogue, a post-credit scene, but it was included in the main part. It’s a good scene that hints at ‘they will live beautifully together.’”
Jung Hye-in expressed, “I’ve always wanted to try a melodrama,” adding, “Since I’ve only played strong roles until now, I had a desire to do a fresh and beautiful melodrama, and I was thrilled to shoot it with a wonderful senior. It was a precious and grateful experience.”
In the film, Jung Hye-in plays the role of superstar Oh Sun-hee, who returns to her hometown of Wando after a divorce lawsuit, while Kang Eun-tak plays her husband, the construction company CEO Kang Seong-ki, who stops at nothing for success. The two reunite after seven years since the 2018 drama ‘Until the End of Love.’
Jung Hye-in said, “I was very nervous because it was a new genre,” and added, “Fortunately, everyone made it so comfortable that I was able to show a lot of energy.”
Regarding her chemistry with Kang Eun-tak, she laughed, saying, “We were rivals in the previous work,” and added, “I felt a bit more at ease, and he led me well so that I wouldn’t be nervous on set. I learned a lot.”
Kang Eun-tak humorously responded, “I never thought I would meet Jung Hye-in again after a few years and have to go through a divorce lawsuit again. It was nice to do it twice.”
He continued, “In a cheerful atmosphere, I had to curse and get angry alone. I had to suddenly change from laughing to serious, so I thought about keeping my distance. We were that close, and I was happy.”
‘Sunny Day’ will be released on the 19th.
