Netflix's original series ‘Squid Game 2’ has been recorded as the most-watched content globally just one day after its release.
According to FlixPatrol, an online content service ranking site, ‘Squid Game 2’ ranked first in the Netflix TV program category in the global top 10 as of the previous day. This achievement came just one day after its release on the 26th.
In terms of country rankings, it reached the top spot in a total of 92 countries, including the United States, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Turkey. It was recognized as the most-watched content in all countries except New Zealand among the 93 countries where FlixPatrol tracks viewing records.
Previously, ‘Squid Game 1’, which was released in 2021, entered the global top 10 just two days after its release and claimed the top spot eight days later. The series maintained its position in the top 10 for 106 days, enjoying global popularity.
‘Squid Game 2’ tells the story of ‘Gi-hun’ (Lee Jung-jae), the winner of the previous game, who re-enters the game to face off against the ‘Frontman’. The cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, and Choi Seung-hyun (TOP), among others.
