Maidin fans held a protest regarding the allegations of sexual misconduct against the representative of their agency.
The Maidin fandom recently held a truck protest in front of the 143 Entertainment headquarters located in Gangnam, Seoul. Fans shouted, “143 Entertainment, do not remain silent and resolve the situation promptly. Take responsibility as an agency for the future of the members.”
They further expressed, “Thoroughly investigate and disclose the facts. Do not condone criminals.”
Prior to the protest, 143 Entertainment announced on the 29th of last month that Maidin member Ga-eun had left the team. The agency explained that Ga-eun had made significant efforts for activities since debuting in September, but personal circumstances made it difficult for her to continue team activities.
Previously, Ga-eun had suspended her activities once due to health issues.
As a result, the team will change to a six-member system. According to the agency, Maidin will continue to carry out all future schedules as normal.
Recently, the representative of 143 Entertainment has come under scrutiny due to allegations of sexual harassment against a Maidin member. According to broadcast reports, the representative allegedly forced physical contact with the member despite her refusal.
In response, the agency stated, “There was no sexual harassment or any form of sexual contact through coercion between the member mentioned in the broadcast and the representative, and the report is not true.”
Maidin, a seven-member group that debuted in September, includes members Kang Ye-seo and Mashiro from Kep1er. Member Ga-eun recently suspended her activities for health reasons.
