Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu candidly confessed that he was "cut" from 'Workman' in relation to his departure from the show.
On the 15th, a video titled "I wanted to be a dad of three kids, but what came back in the end" was released on the YouTube channel 'Hyungsoo is K.Will'.
On that day, Jang Sung-kyu mentioned that he had left the YouTube web entertainment show 'Workman' after 6 years. K.Will directly asked, "How many years did you do it? Were you cut?" and Jang Sung-kyu openly acknowledged, "I did it for 6 years. Yes. (I was cut)."
He then said, "My popularity started from JTBC's 'Knowing Bros', but I was greatly loved as a broadcaster through 'Workman'. It was a program that created such precious moments for me, so I am very grateful, but I also feel regretful."
Earlier in July, Jang Sung-kyu met with PD Ko Dong-wan, who originally planned 'Workman', through his YouTube channel and shared stories. At that time, Jang Sung-kyu expressed his affection by saying, "'Workman' is the program that gave birth to me," and added, "Ko Dong-wan, who directed the early 'Workman', is like my mother."
He continued, "I was always willing to step aside for the growth of 'Workman', but when I suddenly received the notice of my departure... They are making choices for growth, and I said I would respect that." He also shared, "After that, I kept thinking about it for two weeks. I felt depressed at night. It's like YouTube gave birth to me, and it was so sad to think that I would be gone."
After leaving 'Workman', Jang Sung-kyu teamed up with PD Ko Dong-wan again to launch the YouTube channel 'Manri Jang Sung-kyu'.
