Actor Jung Sung-il has divorced after 9 years of marriage.

On the 14th, Jung Sung-il's agency stated to Maeil Business Star Today, “After much contemplation, Jung Sung-il has divorced his (non-celebrity) wife,” and added, “The process was completed amicably, and they have decided to support each other while going their separate ways.”

The agency also requested, “Since the decision was made through a mutual agreement without any fault during the divorce process, we ask that you refrain from distorted or speculative reporting.”

Additionally, they mentioned, “Although the legal relationship has been settled, we are both diligently committed to co-parenting our child,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to show a good image as an actor.”

Previously, Jung Sung-il gained attention by sharing a movie-like love story where he dated, broke up, and then serendipitously reunited with his wife, marrying just three months later. The couple married in 2016 and has one son together.

Jung Sung-il debuted in 2002 with the film ‘H’ and has primarily worked on theater and musical stages. He gained fame for his role as Ha Do-young, the husband of the villain Park Yeon-jin (played by Lim Ji-yeon), in the Netflix series ‘The Glory,’ which was released worldwide in 2022. He has since starred in Netflix’s ‘The Last,’ Disney+’s ‘Trigger,’ and Netflix films ‘84 Square Meters’ and ‘Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,’ rising to stardom.

In September, he met audiences with his first leading role in the film ‘Killer Report.’ His next project is the Disney+ series ‘Made in Korea.’
