Singer Ryu Philip clarified rumors of a conflict with his biological sister, Park Suji.
On the 4th, Ryu Philip opened up during a live broadcast on the YouTube channel 'Philmi Couple', saying, "I want to address something regarding my sister Suji. There was a recent live broadcast, and some misunderstandings arose. An article came out saying that I had cut ties with my sister."
He continued, "My sister told me not to help her, so I am not helping. There were many stories leading up to her stopping her diet. I carefully tied things up so that no one would be harmed by public opinion. However, if I don't clarify the comments, distorted facts become real among people," expressing his frustration.
In particular, Ryu Philip read a comment that said, "It's normal to quit when it's hard, but doing a YouTube channel alone is a family profit-sharing issue," and reacted, "Comments like this make it seem like we are using each other for money." He emphasized, "I have mentioned the money issue dozens, if not hundreds, of times. You can't even imagine how much I give every month."
He explained, "When Suji was living in Chuncheon, she was doing difficult emotional labor. It was hard for her to diet when she was emotionally struggling, so I asked her to come to Seoul to do it together. But since Suji also left her job to come, I paid her a salary. It's not just '100,000 won for losing 10kg.' It's more than that. Mina has actually provided a tremendous amount of support to Suji."
He added, "I wanted to help my sister achieve her dream of being an influencer, and she promised to repay me if she succeeded. Mina has helped and supported both her biological sister and her, and for someone who finds happiness in their family doing well, there is no greed for money. It's disappointing that it has come to this. I hope Suji lives happily. I will not mention it anymore."
Previously, Ryu Philip and his wife, singer Mina, gained attention by sharing the process of helping Park Suji, who weighed 150kg, with her diet on YouTube. However, recently, Park Suji's appearance has not been featured on their YouTube channel, and Ryu Philip stated, "My sister said she no longer needs help, so I let go."
Afterward, Park Suji revealed through her personal social networking service (SNS) that she had regained weight to 108kg due to yo-yo dieting and would show her dieting process again.
