SEVENTEEN's S.Coups opened up about the challenges of being a leader.
On the 23rd, SEVENTEEN's S.Coups and Mingyu appeared on the YouTube channel 'Theo' in 'Salon Drip 2'.
On this day, S.Coups confessed that despite not being a 'leader type' of person, he has been the leader of SEVENTEEN for 10 years, saying, "I was made the leader of SEVENTEEN. So I was very stressed in the early days of debut."
When Jang Do-yeon asked, "How did you feel when the company appointed you as the leader of SEVENTEEN?" S.Coups replied, "I thought, 'They need someone to scold the kids.' I didn't want to scold them, but someone had to lead while scolding, so I guess that's why I was given that position."
He added, "So in the early days of debut, I was really awkward with the members. I was always the one saying bad things."
In response, Mingyu said, "Now I feel that being a leader is an important role, but in the early days of debut, everyone was working hard together, and I didn't know what role the leader had. I had a comfortable mindset of 'since he's the older brother, he is the leader.' But as time went on, and as we had things to coordinate and the members developed their own identities, we all started to feel the weight of the leader's role."
