A man who appeared on ‘I Am Solo’ has been sentenced to a suspended prison term for sexual assault charges in the first trial.
The 11th Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Court (Chief Judge Kim Woo-hyun) sentenced Mr. A (35) to 1 year and 6 months in prison, suspended for 3 years, during the sentencing hearing on the charge of attempted rape on the 19th.
He was also ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures and is prohibited from employment in institutions related to children, adolescents, and the disabled for 5 years.
Mr. A was indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in a parking lot in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, at around 3:30 AM on June 21.
The court stated, “It appears that Mr. A had sexual intercourse despite the victim showing signs of refusal, such as pushing him away while heavily intoxicated,” adding, “The victim seems to have suffered significant mental shock and was injured during the resistance.”
However, it explained, “He shows a remorseful attitude and acknowledges the crime, and the victim does not wish to pursue punishment after reaching an agreement. He has likely had the opportunity for reflection after being detained for three months.”
Meanwhile, Mr. A has appeared consecutively on ENA and SBS Plus’s ‘I Am Solo’ and ‘I Am Solo, and Love Continues After That’.
