The late YouTuber Daedoseogwan (real name Na Dong-hyun) has suddenly passed away, and his ex-wife, YouTuber Yumdaeng, is standing by the late's sister as a mourner, keeping watch over the late's final journey.
Daedoseogwan was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at 8:40 AM on the 6th. He was 46 years old. A friend reported to the police after he did not show up for an appointment and could not be contacted, and the police found him at the scene. No signs of foul play or a suicide note were discovered.
The police believe that Daedoseogwan died of an illness and plan to confirm the exact cause of death through an autopsy.
Daedoseogwan's funeral hall has been set up in Room 205 of the Konkuk University Hospital funeral home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, where Yumdaeng has joined the late's sister as a mourner. The funeral will be held at 8 AM on the 9th.
Daedoseogwan was a first-generation original internet broadcaster who actively worked since the 2000s and was a star YouTuber with 1.44 million subscribers. He is considered a pioneer of 'one-person broadcasting' in Korea. He continued his activities, even attending the 2026 S/S Seoul Fashion Week fashion show held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, until the 4th.
Following the news of Daedoseogwan's passing, fellow YouTubers have expressed their condolences. Review YouTuber Gomong wrote, "He supported me when I was lonely through his broadcasts, and it was Daedo-hyung who made me start YouTube, which changed my life."
He continued, "Hyung said it was physically hard for him to go live and that he didn't have time, but it happened so suddenly," adding, "He would give me long health advice when I collapsed and take me to movie premieres when good films came out. He was always a vibrant and confident big brother among YouTubers. I hope he finds peace there."
Kim Seong-hwa, who runs the YouTube channel 'Kim Seong-hwa's G Encyclopedia,' wrote, "I learned about the world of game broadcasting through my senior, and I dreamed of becoming a game broadcaster."
He added, "Every first encounter is always great. I remember my senior, who walked the path first, even though we are the same age, and I respected him," expressing, "I deeply mourn the last journey of the one who opened the path."
Broadcaster Harisu also posted a tribute saying, "It feels like it was not long since we met on 'Voice Trot.' I hope you can rest comfortably in heaven. I offer my condolences to the deceased."
Daedoseogwan married Yumdaeng in 2015, but they divorced by mutual agreement in 2023 after 8 years of marriage. At that time, the two stated in a live broadcast, "It's not that we are parting due to bad circumstances. As we lived, we wanted to focus more on our work, and we thought it would be much better to remain friends, so we decided to divorce."
