As the intense rivalry narrative unfolds between Lee Byung-chul, the founder of Samsung, and Koo In-hwoi, the founder of LG, MC Jang Hang-jun's surprising confession heats up the atmosphere.

In the second episode of MBN's four-part special historical talk show 'Immortal Rivals' airing on the 3rd, the fiery competition story between Lee Byung-chul and Koo In-hwoi, who laid the foundation for South Korea's economic development, will be revealed.

'Immortal Rivals' is a program that revisits the tumultuous era through the battles of century-old rivals. It summons legendary rivals who emerged at pivotal moments in politics, economy, and culture, vividly unfolding their fierce competitions and hidden backstories.

The second episode will focus on the period when Lee Byung-chul and Koo In-hwoi met as schoolmates and even became in-laws, as well as the decisive moment that strained their friendship. It is expected to deeply portray the narratives of the two giants who laid the foundation of the South Korean economy through their contrasting management philosophies revealed in corporate advertising copy and their different responses during crises.

When the 'masterstroke' chosen by the two during a crisis is revealed, MC Jang Hang-jun cites his marriage to star writer Kim Eun-hee as his own masterstroke.

He expresses, "Marrying writer Kim Eun-hee was a masterstroke," adding, "We met at a young age in our twenties, unable to predict each other's future, but it turned out to be a good choice." Economic expert Professor Ko Young-kyung nods in agreement, stating, "The true 'masterstroke' can only be known with the passage of time."

The production team stated, "There are many intriguing stories intertwined between Lee Byung-chul and Koo In-hwoi, who had different personalities and management philosophies," and added, "Following their rivalry narrative will provide a comprehensive view of the flow of the Korean economy."
