The 4-part special historical talk show ‘Immortal Rivals’ is set to unveil.

In the first episode of MBN’s ‘Immortal Rivals’ airing on the 27th at 10:20 PM, the tumultuous narratives of former President Park Chung-hee and former President Kim Dae-jung, regarded as the hottest rivals in South Korean political history, will be revealed.

‘Immortal Rivals’ is a program that revisits the tumultuous era through the fierce confrontations of legendary rivals who emerged at pivotal moments in politics, economy, culture, and more, vividly unraveling their intense battles and hidden backstories.

As the theme of the first episode was revealed, panelist Kwon Yul was left speechless, saying, “From the first episode...,” while Yulhee also showed signs of tension, stating, “It’s too intense.” Dramatic scenes unfolded in succession, from the 7th presidential election, which was marked by a tense rivalry, to the kidnapping incident of Kim Dae-jung in 1973, and the first encounter between the two, along with tales of their youthful romances, captivating everyone’s attention.

In particular, MC Jang Hang-jun was taken aback when unexpected developments in the stories of the two unfolded, asking, “Is this okay to air?” and eventually stating, “This will definitely heat things up when it airs.” Curiosity is piqued about what behind-the-scenes story made Jang Hang-jun so nervous.

The production team stated, “Park Chung-hee, a symbol of economic development, and Kim Dae-jung, a symbol of democracy, are indispensable rivals in South Korean political history, which is why we chose them as the theme for the first episode,” and expressed their hope that “through the rivalry of these two figures, we will explore the significant currents of modern Korean history.”
