Actor Kim Sang-soon from 'Chief Detective'

Actor Kim Sang-soon from 'Chief Detective' passed away yesterday (25th), marking the 10th anniversary of his death. He was 78 years old.

Kim Sang-soon was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer on August 25, 2015, and after receiving treatment in the hospital, he passed away at his home.

Kim Sang-soon began his career as a stage actor in 1954 during his high school years and made his debut as a voice actor on MBC Radio in 1961. He gained immense popularity in 1971 when he played a detective in the hit drama 'Chief Detective' and delivered a remarkable performance as 'Hwang Nolbu', the strict father of Go Hyun-jung in the rural drama 'The Love of the Jujube Tree'. He also showcased his presence by portraying the military leader Go Yeon-soo in the SBS drama 'Yeon Gaesomun'.

In his lifetime, Kim Sang-soon said, "A star can be made without talent, but an actor must have skill," and expressed, "If I were to be reborn, I would want to live as an actor."
