The Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ has once again proven its global status by winning 6 awards at the Gold Derby TV Awards, a major American pop culture awards ceremony.
According to the Gold Derby website on the 19th (Korean time), ‘Squid Game’ won major awards including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama (Lee Jung-jae), Best Supporting Actress (Kang Ae-sim), Best Supporting Actor (Choi Seung-hyun), Best Guest Actor (Gong Yoo), and Ensemble of the Year at the ‘2025 Gold Derby TV Awards’.
This awards ceremony was held for content released in 2024-2025. Given the success of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2, which was released in December last year, and Season 3, which was released in June this year, this award is seen as a recognition of the achievements of both seasons.
The Gold Derby Awards is a pop culture awards ceremony that honors 30 categories including drama, variety, animation, and film, and this year marks its 22nd edition.
