Comedian Kim Byung-man (50) has completed his marriage registration ahead of his wedding in September, creating a new family.
Joining the TV Chosun variety show 'The Love Fool of Joseon', he expresses his deep affection for his two children and fiancée through the broadcast.
Having gone through a difficult time due to a divorce lawsuit, he recalled his painful past in the teaser video for 'The Love Fool of Joseon' released on the 14th, saying, "I only mentioned that I got divorced, but honestly, I thought about whether to sort everything out. It got to that point."
He continued, "The children saved me. They are what made me stand up again. Including my wife, I can say that the three of them are my 'saviors'," confessing as he became teary-eyed.
Kim Byung-man recently registered his marriage with his fiancée. He has already set up a new home in Jeju Island and is living with his two children, while the two children born out of wedlock have also become legal family members through this marriage registration. The wedding will be held on the rooftop of the Han River's Sebit Island in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 20th of next month.
Kim Byung-man registered his marriage in 2010 with A, who is seven years older, and adopted A's daughter, B. However, he divorced last year following a Supreme Court ruling. Subsequently, B filed a lawsuit on the 7th at the Seoul Family Court to confirm the existence of a biological relationship, claiming, "I had two children with another woman while maintaining the marriage." Kim Byung-man's side rebutted, stating, "I gained my fiancée and two children after the marriage breakdown."
On the 8th, the Seoul Family Court accepted Kim Byung-man's request for the termination of parental rights. The court explained that it considered the difficulty of maintaining the father-daughter relationship and the fact that B has become an adult.
'The Love Fool of Joseon', which will contain Kim Byung-man's new start and family story, will be broadcast later this month.
