Singer Jang Min-ho and former announcer Kim Dae-ho will serve as hosts for the trot audition program MBN's 'Legend of the Unknown - The Ranking War of Trot Men' (hereafter 'Legend of the Unknown').
According to MBN on the 13th, the two have been selected as hosts for MBN's 'Legend of the Unknown', which will air in February next year, embarking on a journey to transform 'unknowns' into legends. The teaser video for 'Legend of the Unknown', released simultaneously, captured the meeting between Kim Dae-ho and the production team after his selection as host, drawing attention.
In the teaser video, Kim Dae-ho expressed his excitement about taking on the role of audition host for the first time, showcasing the confidence of a 'variety show trendsetter'. He stated his desire to host in a style different from his seniors Jeon Hyun-moo, Kim Sung-joo, and Shin Dong-yup, expressing his own beliefs. Kim Dae-ho also hinted at his emotional 'capital F' MC performance, saying, "I hope we can cry and laugh together."
Additionally, as someone with experience from the past survival program 'New Employee', he did not hold back on giving tough love as an audition senior. He raised the tension by saying, "If you don't give it your all from the first round, there won't be a next." He then looked straight ahead and encouraged participants in an excited tone, saying, "Aren't you going to turn your life around? How long will you remain unknown?"
Jang Min-ho is determined to discover truly talented unknown singers. Having debuted as a member of the group 'U-Bis' in 1997 and gone through about 24 years of being unknown to be called 'the gentleman of trot', he understands the hearts of unknown singers better than anyone. Jang Min-ho expressed his enthusiasm during a pre-meeting, stating, "'Legend of the Unknown' is the right place for me. I'm eager for it."
He continued, "I want to be part of the process of finding raw gems and turning them into jewels. I hope 'Legend of the Unknown' becomes a new opportunity for many," expressing his commitment to uncover hidden talents.
With Jang Min-ho and Kim Dae-ho confirmed as hosts, their shared background as former survival program participants is expected to play a central role in MBN's 'Legend of the Unknown'. Having spent a long time being unknown, Jang Min-ho's experience as a participant in the popular audition program 'Mr. Trot' is anticipated to make him a host who deeply understands the struggles and sorrows of the contestants.
Kim Dae-ho also became one of the final three in the 2011 MBC announcer competition program 'Our Night - New Employee' and joined MBC as a public announcer in the 30th batch. With 15 years of hosting experience, he is expected to provide heartfelt advice and support to participants based on his experiences as a survival show senior, alongside Jang Min-ho.
As of the 15th, MBN's 'Legend of the Unknown' is currently recruiting participants, and it has been reported that many applicants have already applied. A second recruitment round is planned to take place until October 10.
