Middle-aged actor Kang Shin-il is challenging himself as a singer after 40 years since his debut.
According to Kang Shin-il's agency, the renowned actor, who has showcased a strong presence through numerous plays, dramas, and films, released his first single album 'Aega' on June 24.
This album is a tribute to his 'wife', who has quietly supported him through countless frustrations and hardships he faced during his youth as he first embarked on the path of acting, and throughout the time he has established himself as a solid actor in his 60s.
The first track 'Aega' is a song dedicated to Kang Shin-il by music director Han Jeong-rim, who won the Arrangement and Music Director Award at the Korean Musical Awards. It is a delicate ballad that combines a gentle vocal with a fairy-tale-like piano melody.
It serves as a quiet confession to someone who has shared the ups and downs of life, offering a glimpse into another side of the actor.
The second track 'Ending Note' is written by music director Jo Chung-man, who is active on the theater stage under the name Woody, and Kang Shin-il participated in the lyrics.
While the first track was a quiet confession of love, 'Ending Note' is a band sound-based song filled with more passionate and sincere emotions, leaving a deep resonance with Kang Shin-il's voice harmonized with a grand chorus. It is a particularly meaningful track as he participated in writing the lyrics, showcasing his serious attitude and passion for music, even in his first album.
This album, which expresses feelings that could not be fully conveyed through the language of acting, holds special significance not only for Kang Shin-il but also for the fans who have supported him for a long time. It can be enjoyed on various music streaming platforms.
