JTBC anchor Han Min-yong shared his thoughts on leaving 'Newsroom'.
On the 2nd, Han Min-yong posted a lengthy message on his personal SNS account, starting with "I said my final goodbyes well."
Han Min-yong stated, "Looking at the opening that my juniors gathered, I realize that a lot has happened over the past two years. It was an honor to stand before you every night, especially during a time when news was needed more than ever."
He continued, "Thanks to the many people who sent huge support and encouragement to the pregnant anchor, I was able to naturally show my bulging belly while opening the news. I am truly grateful," and added, "I am also very thankful to my JTBC colleagues. They made maternity suits for me and took care of me to make things a little more comfortable."
Han Min-yong then said, "I am now going on a leave of absence. I have been dedicated to news for the past 13 years... It feels like I have suddenly derailed from my path," and expressed, "I feel empty and scared, but at the same time, I also feel free. I have a desire to spend this free time, which may never come again in my life, in a fulfilling and enjoyable way."
Meanwhile, born in 1989, anchor Han Min-yong joined MBN as a reporter in 2013 and moved to JTBC in 2017. He married his colleague Kim Min-kwan, a JTBC reporter, in 2021 and is expecting twins this year.
