YouTuber JJ clarified the conflict between her husband Julien Kang and her mother-in-law that arose through a broadcast.
On the 26th, JJ posted a lengthy message on her Instagram, starting with, “Due to the recent broadcast, there have been a lot of comments in the community and on YouTube, and many people are worried.”
She explained that she received many negative comments and wanted to share some situations as the reason for her post.
JJ stated, “I have lived with my mother since before my marriage, and I am currently the head of the household,” adding, “In a typical family, children leave their parents' home after getting married, but I am in a situation where I have to ask my mother to leave my space. I need to find a separate place for my mother to live, but due to investments at the same time, I have had no financial leeway, and I have to take full responsibility for my mother's housing and living expenses.”
Having lived with her mother since birth, separated from her father, JJ explained, “My mother did not have the means to prepare for retirement while raising a daughter,” and added, “It’s a situation where no one can be blamed.”
She continued, “For those who simply say, ‘Please move out immediately,’ or think that one should buy a house for their parents or pay monthly rent, I believe the decision is not easy,” emphasizing, “For this reason, we started our married life without separating, and I am always grateful to Julien for this.”
Regarding the public opinion that her mother is strange, JJ clarified, “Since it’s a broadcast, more than half of it is intentionally directed, so it is 100% different from our usual daily life,” and while acknowledging that “there were initial trial and errors because my mother and I were close,” she stated, “Julien understands this situation well and we have learned how to keep our distance, so there is no situation like what was shown on the broadcast.”
Finally, JJ expressed her affection for Julien Kang, concluding her post with, “We will continue to live sweetly while respecting each other.”
Meanwhile, JJ and Julien Kang, who are in their first year of marriage, recently revealed their daily life on TV Chosun’s ‘Lovers of Joseon’. Julien, who was living with his mother-in-law, showed signs of conflict, feeling uncomfortable with his mother-in-law cleaning the couple's space.
